HappilyApps Documentation

Welcome to the HappilyApps documentation center. Here you can find installation instructions, basic setup guidance, licensing information, and troubleshooting help for HappilyApps WordPress plugins.

HappilyApps plugins generally use a free Core plugin with an optional Pro extension. Install the Core plugin first. When using Pro, install the matching Pro extension and activate it with the license code provided with your purchase.

Quick Start

Installing a free Core plugin

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file from its HappilyApps free-download page.
  2. Keep the downloaded ZIP file compressed. Do not unzip it.
  3. Sign in to your WordPress dashboard.
  4. Open Plugins → Add Plugin.
  5. Click Upload Plugin.
  6. Select the downloaded ZIP file.
  7. Click Install Now.
  8. Click Activate Plugin.

Free Core plugins do not require an activation code.

Installing a Pro extension

  1. Make sure the matching free Core plugin is already installed and active.
  2. Download the Core and Pro ZIP files supplied with your purchase.
  3. Install the Core plugin first if it is not already installed.
  4. Install and activate the separate Pro ZIP file.
  5. Open the plugin’s License & Support section.
  6. Enter the activation code supplied with your purchase.
  7. Click the activation button.

A standard HappilyApps Pro license covers one live website for one year unless the product page states otherwise.

AI News Scout

AI News Scout helps WordPress website owners discover stories, create AI-assisted articles, manage images, review drafts, and publish fresh content from one organized dashboard.

Initial setup

  1. Install and activate AI News Scout Core.
  2. Open AI News Scout from the WordPress dashboard.
  3. Complete the Setup Wizard.
  4. Select the AI provider you intend to use.
  5. Enter the required API key for that provider.
  6. Use the connection test to confirm that the provider is responding.
  7. Review your article, image, publishing, and cleanup preferences.
  8. Run your first story scan.

Using your own AI provider

AI News Scout connects to supported third-party artificial intelligence providers using your own API key. Charges for AI generation or external services are billed separately by those providers and are not included with the HappilyApps plugin license.

Keep API keys private. Do not publish them, email them unnecessarily, or include them in screenshots and support messages.

Basic article workflow

  1. Open the AI News Scout Scan Console.
  2. Run a story scan or investigate a specific story URL.
  3. Review discovered stories before generating content.
  4. Create the article and planned images.
  5. Open the Article Review area.
  6. Read the complete article and verify important names, facts, dates, and claims.
  7. Replace or remove images when necessary.
  8. Save the article as a draft or publish it when it is ready.

AI-generated content can contain incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information. Always review generated material before publishing it.

AI News Scout troubleshooting

No articles were created: Confirm that the AI provider connection test succeeds, the API account has available credit, and the selected search subject can return suitable stories.

Image generation failed: Verify the selected image provider, available account credit, image-provider permissions, and the connection-test result.

A story was rejected as a duplicate: AI News Scout compares discovered stories with prior items to avoid repeatedly generating substantially similar content.

A scheduled scan did not run: WordPress scheduled tasks depend on site traffic and server configuration. Check the automation status, WordPress cron behavior, and hosting restrictions.

HappilyApps Reactions adds visitor reaction buttons to WordPress posts, pages, events, products, and other supported content.

Basic setup

  1. Install and activate HappilyApps Reactions Core.
  2. Open HappilyApps Reactions from the WordPress dashboard.
  3. Make sure the main Reactions switch is active.
  4. Select the content types that should display reactions.
  5. Choose whether reactions appear before or after the content.
  6. Select the alignment and button size.
  7. Review the live preview.
  8. Save the settings.
  9. Open a published post or page to confirm the reaction button appears.

Reactions troubleshooting

Reactions do not appear: Confirm that Reactions are active, the correct content type is selected, and category filtering includes the post’s category. Also confirm that the selected placement is not set to manual shortcode unless the shortcode has been inserted.

Reactions appear in the wrong location: Try the page-builder compatibility option or use manual shortcode placement within the page builder.

A Pro feature remains locked: Confirm that Reactions Pro is installed, active, and connected to a current license.

Creating a manual backup

  1. Install and activate HappilyApps Backup Core.
  2. Open HappilyApps Backup from the WordPress dashboard.
  3. Select the type of backup you want to create.
  4. Choose whether Media Library files should be included.
  5. Start the backup.
  6. Keep the browser page open while the backup is being prepared unless the plugin states that background processing is active.
  7. Review the backup console for completion or error messages.
  8. Download the completed backup archive.
  9. Store a copy away from the website and hosting account.

Backup Pro development

HappilyApps Backup Pro is being developed to add scheduled automatic backups, retention controls, and supported external storage destinations.

Backup Pro features and supported storage providers may change before public release.

Important backup practices

  • Keep more than one recent backup.
  • Store at least one copy outside the website’s hosting account.
  • Create a backup before installing major WordPress, plugin, or theme updates.
  • Periodically confirm that downloaded archives can be opened.
  • For important websites, test restoration on a staging or development installation.

Licenses and subscriptions

Paid HappilyApps products are generally sold as annual subscriptions for one website.

An active subscription normally includes:

  • Use of the licensed Pro features
  • Software updates released during the active subscription period
  • License activation services
  • Paid product support
  • Access to submit product feature requests

To move a license to another website, deactivate it on the original website before activating it on the replacement website.

License activation problems

When a license will not activate:

  1. Confirm that the activation code was copied without extra spaces.
  2. Confirm that both the Core and Pro plugins are installed and active.
  3. Confirm that the website can make outgoing secure connections.
  4. Confirm that the subscription has not expired.
  5. Confirm that the license is not already active on another live website.
  6. Use the Validate License option when it is available.

Updating HappilyApps plugins

Before installing an important plugin update, create a current website backup.

When an update is available through WordPress:

  1. Open Dashboard → Updates or Plugins.
  2. Review the available HappilyApps update.
  3. Click Update Now.
  4. Allow the update to finish before leaving the page.
  5. Review the plugin afterward to confirm that it remains active.

You can also install a newer ZIP manually. WordPress may ask whether you want to replace the existing plugin with the uploaded version. Review the version numbers and confirm the replacement.

Support and feature requests

Free Core plugins include access to this public documentation and available product updates.

Customers with a current Pro subscription can submit paid support requests and product feature requests from the License & Support section inside the applicable plugin.

A support request may include diagnostic information such as WordPress and PHP versions, plugin versions, selected settings, and recent error messages. Review the information before submitting it and do not intentionally include passwords, payment details, or private API keys.

System requirements and compatibility

HappilyApps plugins are designed for current WordPress installations. Actual compatibility can also depend on the PHP version, hosting configuration, active theme, page builder, security settings, and other installed plugins.

Keep WordPress, PHP, themes, and plugins reasonably current. Test important changes on a staging website whenever practical.
